Varicose & Spider Vein Removal
Varicose veins are usually the result of diseased veins beneath the skin and represent more serious conditions that become worse over time! Our professional staff can treat unsightly veins and eliminate the diseased veins below the surface. Ultra-Sound Diagnostic Procedures will evaluate deeper veins and identify those that are diseased and in need of treatment.
Surgery is no longer necessary to treat diseased veins. They can be treated by a minimally invasive in-office procedure using only local anesthesia. This procedure consists of ultrasound guided injections of solutions to irritate the vein wall causing closure. Alternatively, the vein may also be closed using a laser fiber to heat the vein internally (Endo Venous Laser Treatment EVLT). Surgical stripping is no longer necessary to treat large varicose veins!
Not all veins are diseased Varicose Veins. Spider veins are small surface veins which may be cosmetic and not related to an underlying disease. These can be eliminated by injecting solutions directly into the veins, thus causing vein wall damage, subsequent contraction and disappearance. These veins can also be treated using a laser in the appropriate situation, although injection Sclerotherapy remains the "gold standard" for treating spider veins.
